Solange Omon: The 21-Year-Old Cameroonian Model Who Won Victoria’s Secret Open Casting
Solange Omon, a 21-year-old model from Cameroon, made her Victoria’s Secret runway debut at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles. Her appearance followed a victory in the brand’s open casting search, Angels Among Us, where she beat more than 100,000 applicants.
From Open Casting to Angel Wings

The competition, documented in a special YouTube series, named Omon the winner. The prize included a one-year modelling contract with IMG Models and her place on the Victoria’s Secret runway. She stood alongside fellow top three finalists Andreína Martínez and Tatyana Tinsley.
A Background Rooted in Community Work

Born in Cameroon as the eldest of six children, Omon moved to the United States and has lived in Lewiston, Maine, for the past few years. Before entering the national spotlight, she balanced university coursework with a job as a programme coordinator for a local non-profit organisation supporting young people. Her work focused on helping Black and immigrant teenagers apply for jobs, find professional mentors, and access higher education resources in her community.
She carried that grounded background with her when she attended the open casting call in Chicago.
The Runway Look and Moment

For her debut, Omon wore a contrast ivory and black lace lingerie set featuring a plunge bra and high-cut briefs, styled with oversized gold hoop drop earrings. The centrepiece of her outfit was a pair of illuminated golden wings with embedded warm lights, paired with a sweeping bronze metallic train attached at the base of the wings.
As she walked down the glossy black runway, she held the edges of her metallic train, letting the lightweight fabric float behind her. Midway through her walk, she turned toward the cameras with a warm smile, twirled gracefully on the catwalk, and gestured to the audience before stepping back up the stage.
A Milestone for Representation
Omon’s victory marks a significant moment for African representation in global fashion, showing how a young woman from Central Africa went from community work to one of the most recognised runways in the world.
