The former Moroka Swallows attacking midfielder turned business owner has been caught in a web after suspects who are linked to a hijacking were arrested at his place of business.

On Tuesday evening, the Daily Sun reported that a veteran footballer who has since been identified as former Moroka Swallows attacking midfielder Maimane Phiri is caught in a web after three suspects who were allegedly involved in the hijacking of three Morgan Beef trucks were arrested at his butchery in 4th avenue, in Alexandra.

In addition, it is further reported that the three suspects who hijacked and stole meat from these trucks of which some was found inside Maimane Phiri’s butchery were also in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition when they were arrested.

According to different reports, it is reported that the former Moroka Swallows attacking midfielder has revealed that he was not aware that the meat was stolen and that the suspects only asked for storage.
