Former Orlando Pirates star Kudakwashe Mahachi penned a heartfelt birthday message to his mother, leaving many in tears.

The Zimbabwe talisman took to Instagram to celebrate his mother’s birthday, and many were puzzled by his childhood woes and how his mother sacrificed everything for him to be the star he is today.



Undoubtedly, the star has gushed about his mother over the years and often shared photos celebrating her life.

On his mother’s birthday, Mahachi opened up about how she used to sell sugar and bread to make ends meet. On the other hand, he also revealed after school, he would join his mother and help her since the business was demanding.

The SuperSport United reject made it known that his mother raised him, and she had to do odd jobs to make ends meet.


Mahachi’s post has since convinced many that the former Orlando Pirates star has a rags-to-riches story to tell.

Over the years, Kudakwashe Mahachi has had dramatic stints in South Africa.

The star has since joined Ghanaian Champions Medeama SC ahead of the 2023 -2024 season on a one-year deal after being released by SuperSport United in 2022.


He was released in the backdrop of his attempted murder and abuse allegations. However he was later acquitted, but the charges had already taken a toll on his career.

Apart from Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United, he starred for DStv Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.
