H&M, Adidas and Inditex Back New Coalition to Tackle Second-Hand Textile Flows
The Or Foundation has established the Apparel Recovery Coalition (ARC) at Kantamanto Market, one of the largest second-hand clothing markets in the world, with the aim of improving post-consumer textile flows. The foundation estimates that the market recirculates 25 million garments every month.
The coalition was launched in partnership with Adidas, H&M Group, Inditex—the parent company of Zara—and Danish fashion company Bestseller.
Addressing Textile Flows at Scale
With 25 million garments moving through Kantamanto Market each month, the scale of post-consumer textile flows presents a significant challenge. The Apparel Recovery Coalition was created to address these flows, bringing together major fashion brands and The Or Foundation.
Partners Behind the Coalition
The coalition includes four corporate partners: Adidas, H&M Group, Inditex, and Bestseller. The Or Foundation launched the initiative in partnership with these companies.
