It is important to take care of your body. This women’s month we will be sharing the most important health checkups for women. By detecting diseases early on, they are often easier to treat. Read the following so that you know what is important while you lead on a healthy life.

The first is Breast cancer, women should conduct a regular self-examination of their breasts and immediately consult a doctor if they see or feel any changes. Screening can detect early changes in the cervix which can be treated and save a life. Cervical cancer screenings available include pap smear.

Thirdly, Colorectal cancer screening, these tests look for cancer in the colon or rectum by checking for tissue growths, called polyps. A faecal immunochemical test (FIT) should happen annually as it detects hidden blood in the stool which can be an early sign of cancer. The fourth one is doing skin checks, skin cancer is caused by the abnormal growth of skin cells that have been exposed to the sun. The skin should be examined at least once a month. Women with a number of moles should have them “mapped” to detect any changes.
