Steve Harvey and his wife dismiss cheating allegations

Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie have quashed rumours that they are on the brink of divorce.

Media reports over the weekend suggested that there was trouble in the Harvey palace over cheating claims.

The damning allegations spread across social media like a wild veld fire and many people thought that their marriage had ended.

Steve was dragged on social media a few days ago after a tweet from his official Twitter account, asking people to mention a comedian they don’t find funny, made the rounds on the app.

The organisation’s Bernadine Wilken said she and her female colleagues wanted to empower the women of the Bay.

“Crime and gender-based violence (GBV) is on the rise and we believe this could save a life,” Wilken said.

Wilken said the idea had come about when she noticed a spike in GBV cases, and women being reported as missing.

“I then realised people need to be able to defend themselves and that’s why I decided to do this class,” she said.

“I managed to get an instructor, Dale Contell, who said he was willing to assist us … he is a fantastic guy and I am sure the women will learn a lot from him.

Contell said he was excited about being part of the training session.

“It’s a wonderful idea and something that should have happened a long time ago,” he said.

Contell said he had also been a victim of a violent attack.

“After the attack, I felt completely disconnected, paranoid, and afraid. I questioned my masculinity. Self-defence classes were the only thing that assisted me.”

Wilken said women should not only be commemorated during August, but every month of the year.
