Mixed reactions have begun to trail multi-award-winning singer Rihanna’s choice of name for her newborn son.
Rihanna and her partner, rapper Asap Rocky, welcomed their second child on August 1 and have named him ‘Riot Rose Mayers,’ The Blast reports.
The couple are also parents to son, RZA Athelston Mayers, born in 2022 and named after legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper, RZA.
Tweeps have since begun to share their thoughts on the couple’s choice of name for their newly-born son.
Ekiti governor’s wife condemns killing of FUOYE Student

The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has condemned the killing of Miss Deborah Atanda, a female student of Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), demanding Justice for her death.
Oyebanji condemned the killing in a statement on Friday by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Odunayo Ogunmola, in Ado-Ekiti.
The governor’s wife empathised with family of the deceased and university community mourning the loss of a promising student.
Oyebanji said she was shocked and heartbroken upon receiving the news of the untimely demise of the 200 level student of the Department of Nursing, FUOYE.
“The killing is an act of sheer wickedness, shocking in its brutality, heartrending to the core, and absolutely condemnable.
Bandits ‘burn seminarian to death’, kill two in Kaduna

Three people have been killed in separate attacks by bandits in Kamantan and Sabon Kaura in Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna state.
Both incidents were said to have occurred on Thursday night.
In Kamantan, the bandits invaded the residence of the Catholic Parish priest, killing Stephen Naman, a seminarian.
A resident of the area told NAN that the bandits invaded the parish in droves.
The priest, alongside his colleague, escaped from the house before the bandits arrived. Naman had hid in the toilet.
The resident added that the community repelled the attack and gunned down one of the bandits.
In a reprisal move, the bandits set the parish ablaze, with Naman consumed by the inferno.
NAN quoted sources as saying that Naman died from the smoke he inhaled while trying to escape.
“The bandits came in the night to kidnap the Parish priest in Kamantan,” NAN quoted the resident as saying.
Abiodun hails Tribunal’s verdict on Ogun House of Reps members

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has described the victory of four House of Representatives members elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the National and State House of Assemblies Elections Petition Tribunal as the affirmation that the 2023 general elections in the state were free and fair.
The three-man panel of judges, headed by Justice Kabir Gabo, on Thursday, declared Hon. Isiaka Ibrahim (Ifo/Ewekoro), Hon. Abiodun Akinlade (Yewa South/Ipokia), Afolabi Afuape (Abeokuta South), and Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (Yewa North/Imeko Afon), as the authentic winner of the 25 February 2023 National Assembly elections.

He added that the people’s desires were reflected in the outcome of the tribunal’s judgment.
